How I Serve Clients
Once the matter comes into the office, be it representing the plaintiff or defendant in whatever kind of matter, I attempt to do an extensive factual and legal analysis as part of an early evaluation. In most cases, the vast majority of the facts can be fairly easily ascertained, or divined, and then applied to the prevailing law. Ideally, if appropriate, an attempt can be made on the front end to resolve matters before the clients on either side invest too much in the process.
If our best effort for such an early resolution proves unsuccessful, then the litigation begins in earnest. If litigation results, then the focus shifts to a much more aggressive trial mode. Although many attorneys approach litigation as a one size fits all and anything goes approach, this firm’s style tends to be a much more dedicated and refined attack.
Exceptional Client Service
Nothing is done for the mere sake of doing it, but only to advance the ball and the goals of the litigation. We strive to be in control of the litigation, applying relentless pressure, combined with adherence to all professional standards. Our interaction with counsel and the courts has given what we feel is a well-deserved reputation for excellence and ethics.
How My Background Helps Clients
After graduating from Stanford Law School, I had the opportunity to work at the venerable long-time Tucson firm of Bilby, Shoenhair, Warnock and Dolph, and, after its merger, with Snell & Wilmer. This association provided me with a tremendous opportunity to work with outstanding attorneys on many very large and complex cases.
In 1992, I left Snell & Wilmer to join with law school classmate Pat Lopez, then a tenured law professor at the University of Arizona, to form our own firm, with the goal of providing clients with “large firm” expertise in a small firm atmosphere. We greatly value each of our clients, and work tirelessly to facilitate solutions that meet with their objectives.
When I am Not in the Office
I am doing outdoor things, typically with my children, such as hunting and fishing, or watching them play soccer, lacrosse, and basketball.
