Philip Mitchell joins RL&L as a partner practicing in the areas of commercial and corporate litigation.

Philip Mitchell has practiced for over 36 years and has extensive experience with workouts for financial institutions and businesses including management, restructuring, foreclosure, asset recovery, asset sales, real property, litigation, litigation management, liquidation and Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganizations. Philip represents individuals and institutional creditors, trusts, debtors, Chapter 11 trustees, receivers, liquidation trusts and creditor and equity committees in state and federal court actions. His specific areas of experience include:

  • Regulated industries, utilities, and services
  • Loan and contract negotiations, loan and contract origination, administration and documentation
  • Real estate –  documentation, title work, securitization, trusting, land banking, transfers, options, leaseholds on behalf of landlords and tenants, lease negotiations, drafting, and terminations

  • Workouts, including loans and security modifications, forbearance, judicial stipulations and restructures
