Shayna F. Watts Honored With Prestigious 2019 Hispanic National Bar Association’s Top Lawyers Under 40 Award

The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) recently announced the names of the exceptional attorneys selected to receive the prestigious “HNBA Top Lawyers Under 40” Award for 2019.  RL&L’s Shayna Watts was one of the 36 attorneys honored.

After a rigorous review process, the Awards Committee selected 36 highly qualified winners from across the country. The “Top Lawyers Under 40” Award honors accomplished lawyers who have demonstrated professional excellence, integrity, leadership, commitment to the Hispanic community, and dedication to improving the legal profession.

“We are proud to honor 36 of our Latino and Latina lawyers and community leaders from across the nation,” said Jennifer Salinas, HNBA National President. “Once again this year, the HNBA received record-breaking nominations. The number of highly qualified nominees illustrates the progress our community is making in the areas of law and leadership.

Shayna Fernandez Watts is currently Of Counsel at RL&L and practices in employment law and commercial litigation. She counsels and represents clients in mediations, arbitrations, and Arizona state and federal courts. Shayna is originally from Brownsville, Texas, and is a self-professed band geek (alto saxophonist) and a science fair enthusiast. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from Stanford University, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Education from the University of Texas-Pan American, and a JD from the University of Arizona. Prior to attending law school, Shayna was a teacher with the Teach for America Program and taught U.S. and Texas History in Donna, Texas to 6th and 7th grade students.
