Four RL&L Attorneys Named to 2017 Best Lawyers® List; Two named “Lawyer of Year” in respective practices

Four Rusing, Lopez & Lizardi attorneys have been named to The Best Lawyers in America® list for 2017, and two of the firm’s founding partners were additionally recognized as Lawyers of the Year in their practice areas.

Mick Rusing, Pat P. Lopez III and Daniel J. Quigley each were named Best Lawyers® for the 10th consecutive year. William Brammer made the list for the first time.

Rusing also was named Best Lawyers® 2017 Tucson Personal Injury Litigation − Defendants Lawyer of the Year. Lopez was named Real Estate Lawyer of the Year. Only one lawyer in each practice area in each community is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year.”

Best Lawyers® is the oldest peer-review publication in the legal profession, providing lists of outstanding attorneys compiled by conducting peer-review surveys with more than 80,000 leading lawyers throughout the United States. For the 2017 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America®, 7.3 million votes were analyzed, which resulted in almost 55,000 leading lawyers being included in the new edition. Lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, therefore inclusion in Best Lawyers® is considered a singular honor.

Rusing, a Stanford Law graduate, co-founded RL&L with Lopez in 1992. He was named to the Best Lawyers® in seven practice areas: commercial litigation; banking and finance litigation; real estate litigation; regulatory enforcement (SEC, Telecom, Energy) litigation; mass tort litigation in class actions for plaintiffs; personal injury litigation for defendants; and personal injury litigation for plaintiffs.

Lopez, also a Stanford Law School graduate who received his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, was named to the Best Lawyers® list in real estate law.

Quigley was named for gaming law and Native-American law. Quigley earned his law degree cum laude from Northwestern University College of Law in 1986. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in finance with high distinction from the University of Arizona.

Brammer, a Judge of the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division Two, for more than 15 years before Joining RL&L in 2013, was named to Best Lawyers® in the category of appellate practice. He received his law degree and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Arizona.
