RL&L’s Kate Frenzinger addressed some of the most commonly asked questions this morning in a webinar regarding paid leave under the FFCRA and discussed how employers could protect themselves and support their employees during this time of uncertainty.
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act is one of several laws recently enacted to provide relief to those that are suffering the effects of the economic and health impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. The FFCRA contains two paid leave provisions, the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act and Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act. The Department of Labor has issued guidance–and continues to do so–to aid employers in implementing and complying with these mandatory leave provisions. Kate provided an overview of these provisions, how they interact with existing leave requirements, and updates on the DOL’s guidance to employers.
